been made in error.

In the British Cons ul's letter have

"Strict instructions have been issued to all police stations

to trace the stolen goods and to clear up the case, and in the

meantime this report is submitted in accordance with your instruc-

tions".

The above report is entirely at variance with the account of

the affair given in your letter under reply.

I have given instructions for the finding of clues to the

crime and for the arrest of the robbers in order that the district

may be cleared of them, and I now have the honour to send you this

reply.

The list of stolen articles forwarded by you has been sent

to the Police for reference.
